My greatest achievement of the new school year was teaching the first ever, Highlands Awesome Guidance Friday! The topic was organization and how it helps you succeed in school. I have to admit, I was pretty awesome at planning the activities for the older grades. I thought that having a backpack scavenger hunt was a great idea. Teaching involves a great deal of planning. I had to make sure that what I thought would be fun would, in fact, BE fun. Well, things were going along just fine until I got to first grade and kindergarten at the end of the day. My plans for those two grades didn't work out as well as I would have liked. So, what did I learn from my first Awesome Guidance Friday? I learned that I have some extra planning to do for the first and kindergarten grades for next time. A learning experience for me and, I hope a good experience for all of you when it comes to becoming more organized.
